As we transition into fall one would expect to see winterised options making their way to market. Nike have surprised us with two winter renditions of typically summer silhouettes, namely the previously seen Footscape Woven and now we see the Sock Dart arriving and it is an absolute beauty.
The futuristic runner has enjoyed huge success with the Hitoshi Fujiwara, Fragment Design interpretation seen a couple of years back now drawing a huge fascination with the silhouette. The HTM moniker given to the partnership between Hiroshi, Mark Parker and Tinker Hatfield has pushed the design levels of the brand over the last 14 years and the 2004 Sock Dart came straight from the HTM stable.
The silhouettes minimal design features a revolutionary knitted upper which provides focussed areas of both support and elasticity dependent on the requirements of the area of the foot to which it is applied. This was a precursor to FlyKnit and the drew on silhouettes like the Presto and evolved it. This winterised trio drops here in three colourways of black, maroon and blue each featuring a heathered knit pattern creating a flecked look to it. Finishing off the silhouette is a speckled Phylis sole unit and uses a matching hue for the strap support.
You can expect the Black and Maroon colourways to drop through stores such as Size? On Friday 11th November. News of the Navy release will follow.
